On entering the water the static line activator will automatically inflate the danbuoy to 1.8 meters heigh. It includes an automatic light 'oscar' flag and retro reflective tape. The buoy is weighted and has an integral drogue to reduce drifting.

It is easily re-armed by the user with an XM re-arming kit.
