Navigation Lights & Search Lights
Navigation boat lights and search lights are important aspects of boating. They are vital to avoid collisions and to allow other boats to determine what type of boat you are and what position your boat is in in relation to them. In general sailing boats carry a green navigation light that shines from dead ahead to 2 points abaft the beam on the starboard side, a red navigation light from dead ahead to two points abaft the beam on the port side and a white navigation light that shines from astern to two points abaft the beam on both sides.
