In spite of the development of GPS technology in recent years, traditional sea navigation techniques remain a vital skill for sailing. At Mailspeed Marine we stock all the navigation accessories and equipment you will need, from charts and plotters to binoculars, compasses and sextants. Sailing navigation has, of course, changed hugely over the past century, but many of the basic principles remain in place. Chartwork and celestial navigation skills are therefore still essential to the private yachtsman or small boat crew looking to sail out-of-sight of land, either as the primary basis of a ship’s navigation, or as a backup.
